Minecraft Server Rules

A list of of official rules for our Minecraft Servers

Chat

These rules apply to both Minecraft and Discord chats. Due to the fact that in-game Minecraft chats are linked to Discord chats, Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines must also be followed in all chats.

  • Please do not use offensive language
  • Keep the chat “Family Friendly”. We have adults, but also minors playing and we would like to keep the chat clean. This includes no swearing, profanity, racism, or NSFW.
  • Do not spam or use caps excessively
  • Do not attempt to bypass other players blocking you, like /ignore
  • Do not attempt to bypass chat filters. Having the chat filter block your message may be considered as a first/second warning. If you feel that your message should not have been blocked, please /report.
  • Sending hyperlinks in chat is allowed as long as they do not lead to sites containing malware, adult, hateful or extremist content or advertise services or products
  • Do not send messages that intentionally agitates or attacks another player.

Advertising

  • Do not advertise other Minecraft servers or products
  • Naming Minecraft server is allowed as long as you’re not providing links or connection addresses
  • Sending messages with the sole purpose of promoting something (other minecraft servers, discord invites, referral links, youtube/twitch streams, etc) is not allowed.

Building

  • Modifying or destroying (griefing) another players structure without their explicit consent is not allowed and can lead to either a temporary ban (in case of a small violation) or a permanent ban.
  • Willfully, excessively destroying the landscape is not allowed
  • Stealing is not allowed, whether from chests or by breaking blocks and taking them.

Bugs, Hacks and other Client Mods

Do not abuse exploits or bugs in our server software or in Minecraft itself. If you accidentally find a bug or exploit, make a /report immediately (you won’t get punished if you didn’t abuse it and it was an accidental find).

All modifications (or “mods”) and texture/resource packs must only contain features that either fall into one of the below categories or can be disabled:

Allowed Mod Categories
  • purely non-informational visual changes (capes, custom skins, hats, texture changes, changing game sounds, etc. NO xray)
  • optimization (optifine, lithium)
  • information that is easily seen in vanilla client (i.e. armor, inventory, potion effects, item durability, light levels, measuring distances, coordinates, but no minimaps with underground mapping or mobs listed, xray, tracers, etc.).
    • Exception: a mod that shows the health or inventory of mobs or other players is allowed.
  • Information about game mechanics displayed in an easy-to-view format. May use information from the server that anyone can see in vanilla to show information (light levels, food in hand, etc) (AppleSkin, Crafting recipe list mods, visual spawning range overlays)
  • Mods that do not run while in multiplayer (world edit, multiconnect, ReAuth, Mod Menu for fabric, custom world generation, etc)
  • status info from your computer (fps, cpu usage, memory usage)
  • building guides or helpers given that the mods do not take actions automatically (litematica, Slot Locker, etc)
  • recording mods used for the purpose of recording (replay mod)
  • anything that can be replicated using stuff built into the vanilla client without modification (f3 + b, f3 + h, zoom, no fullbright because that’s going into gamefiles and manually editing the value to something crazy high)
  • Mod loaders (forge, fabric, etc by themselves is fine)

Assume that any other mod features not listed above are forbidden, though if you are ever unsure, feel free to ask a staff member. Note that mods also include anything that interacts with the minecraft client for you (i.e. autoclickers, placing a brick on your keyboard and AFKing).

Hack clients and other mods where you gain an unfair advantage over other players are not allowed and will be blocked by our Anti-Cheat system. If we notice you are using a modded client violating our rules we may ban you permanently without prior warning.

AFK policies

The server will automatically kick you after a certain period of time. However, please note the following:

  • While AFK, you may only stand around doing nothing. This includes not doing actions that can be simulated by placing a brick on your keyboard or mouse
  • If you appear to be AFK but still doing some action (i.e. holding right click, swinging at a farm at a semi-constant rate, etc), staff reserve the right to fly in front of you and/or send chat messages. Not responding or acknowledging (stopping, disconnecting, looking at the staff member, replying to chat messages, etc) while continuing to do the action is not allowed and will be considered AFK bypassing regardless if you are still actually “at your keyboard”
  • AFKing at a spot intentionally to block or annoy other players is forbidden, especially on dropper pressure plates or in front of buttons
  • Using autoclickers or hacked client automation is forbidden regardless of if you are responsive

Alternate Accounts

  • You are only permitted to play on the MC servers with a single Minecraft account
=> TLDR: Do not use multiple accounts to play on Tallcraft.
If we notice you are using an alt account we will give you a warning or ban the account. In the future we might also introduce automated mechanisms to limit alts.
If you are banned from the MC servers you are not allowed to bypass that with an alt account. Violation will eventually lead to an IP ban.
  • Do not share Minecraft accounts (let other players use your Minecraft account). If you do so we will treat it as an alt account of that player and might ban it.
  • You are allowed to switch to a different account (for whatever reason) but only if you stop using the old one. In this case please let staff know in advance.

Our rules are subject to change without prior notice.
We reserve the right to ban you for reasons not listed here.
